Injection Pressure

The injection pressure varies in direct proportion to the number of Rubber Bands used.

 

Epoxy Injection with Epoxy Injector

Clean approximately 50mm along the width of the crack by wire brush or grinder

Mark out the nipple location

average D is 250 to 300mm c/c

Align and install nipple with epoxy sealer, e.g. StoPox EPA-P, StoPox SK 21-S, etc.

Seal the remainder of the crack with epoxy putty.

Suck the epoxy resin into the injector, install stopper and rubber band. Screw into the nipple and release.

When the resin has set, remove nipple with chisel and hammer and the sealer with grinder.

Repair of Hollow Screed or Plaster by Injecting StoPox IH-BV, Low viscosity epoxy resin

The following steps are normally used in injection of StoPox IH-BV into hollow screed or plaster.

Steps

  1. Inspect hollow screed or plaster by mean of tapping with a hammer to determine the hollow area.
  2. Drill holes and install anchor at 1.0 to 1.5m c/c.
  3. Drill 16mm diameter holes at 0.5m to 1m c/c into the hollow screed or plaster and install PU packer.
  4. Mix StoPox IH-BV, which comes in two portions until it is clear.
  5. Pump StoPox IH-BV into the hollow screed or plaster by using a PU grout pump adjusts to the lowest pressure.
  6. Pumping process should be done from the lowest packer upward or from one end to the other.
  7. Tap with a hammer to ensure that the hollowness is filled.
  8. After StoPox IH-BV hardened, remove the packer and patch up hole with non-shrink grout.
  9. Apply paint to match adjacent surface, if necessary.

Crack Repair by Epoxy Injection

The following steps are normally used in epoxy injection with StoPox IH-BV system, low viscosity epoxy resin.

Steps

  1. Prepare surface by removing laitance, dust, paint, skim coat, etc., along the crack for a width of approximately 50mm.
  2. Attach injector’s nipple with StoPox SK 21-S, epoxy-sealing compound at approximately 300mm c/c along the crack.
  3. Seal the remaining parts of the crack with StoPox SK 21-S.
  4. Cure StoPox SK 21-S overnight.
  5. Mix the StoPox IH-BV that comes in two portions until it is uniform in colour.
  6. Suck StoPox IH-BV into injector and connect injector to nipple. Install special elastic rubber and release stopper to self-inject the epoxy resin.
  7. Injection should be done from the lowest nipple upward or from one end of the crack if it is horizontal.
  8. Repeat step 6, if epoxy resin in the injector is completely injected into crack and thus injector become empty.
  9. When the StoPox IH-BV has cured i.e. hardened, remove the injectors and StoPox SK 21-S by grinding.
  10. Apply paints to match adjacent surface.

Epoxy Injectionto bond Steel Plate to Concrete Structure

The following steps are normally used in epoxy injection with StoPox IH BV system.

Steps

  1. Surface preparation of concrete and steel plate as per engineer’s instructions.
  2. Drill holes at 500mm c/c at the bottom and top of the steel plate and attach injection port.
  3. Seal all edges, bolt and nut area and injection port with StoPox SK 21S, epoxy putty. This is to ensure no leakage during injection process.
  4. Mix the StoPox IH BV, epoxy resin that comes in two portions until the resin become clear.
  5. By using a pump, inject epoxy resin into the steel plate working from one end to the other and bottom to top. Tap using a hammer to ensure that all the hollow area is filled with epoxy resin.
  6. When StoPox IH BV has hardened, remove the injection ports and make good surfaces.

Epoxy Injection to Repair HDB Store Room Blast Door Frame

The following steps are normally used in epoxy injection with StoPox IH-BV system.

Steps

  1. Check and mark area of metal fame that is hollow.
  2. Drill holes at the base and highest location of the hollow area.
  3. Ensure that all the potential leak area such as edges, cracks, etc. is seal with StoPox SK 21S, epoxy putty and allow to set.
  4. Tread hole and attach injection nipple.
  5. Mix the StoPox IH-BV, epoxy resin that comes in two portions until it is uniform in colour.
  6. By using a pump, inject epoxy resin into the hollow area working from the lowest nipple upward or from one end to the other, if it is horizontal.
  7. When the StoPox IH-BV has cured i.e. hardened, remove the nipples and make good surfaces.

Epoxy Injection to Repair Hollow Steel Base Plate using StoPox IH-BV, Low viscosity epoxy resin

The following steps are normally used in epoxy injection with StoPox IH-BV system.

Steps

  1. Check the hollowness of the base plate by tapping with a hammer and mark out the area.
  2. At the marked area, drill holes through the base plate.
  3. Attach epoxy nipple with StoPox SK 21-S, epoxy putty over the drilled holes.
  4. Ensure that all the potential leak area such as edges, cracks, bolts & nuts, etc. are sealed with StoPox SK 21-S.
  5. Cure StoPox SK 21-S for at least 4 hours.
  6. Mix StoPox IH-BV that comes in two portions until it is uniform in colour. The mix proportion is 5:2 by volume for component A:B.
  7. Suck StoPox IH-BV into injector and connect injector to nipple. Install special elastic rubber and release stopper to self-inject the epoxy resin into the hollow area. Tap with a hammer to ensure that all hollowness is filled with epoxy resin.
  8. When the StoPox IH-BV has cured i.e. hardened, remove the injectors and StoPox SK 21-S by chisel and grinding.

Grouting of 38mm diameter hole in 200mm thick wall with StoPox IH-BV, a 100% solid content epoxy resin

Steps

  1. Clean the opening surfaces to provide good bonding.
  2. Ensure that the opening is dried.
  3. Place PVC injection port and seal with StoPox SK 21-S; epoxy putty to both sides of the opening. Attached flexible tube to both the injection ports.
  4. Allow epoxy putty to set for more than 4 hours.
  5. Mix StoPox IH-BV, epoxy resin at a ratio of 5:2 by volume until even consistency.
  6. Pump the epoxy resin into the 38mm diameter hole from one side until epoxy resin flows out from the other side.
  7. Continue pumping until no air bubble can be seen coming out of the overflow tube.
  8. Seal off the overflow tube and increase pressure slightly.
  9. Seal off the inlet tube and allow epoxy to set overnight.
  10. Make good surfaces after the epoxy resin has set.
