Key Advantages of Pre-Applied Membrane for Basement

  • Preformed membrane advantages outweighs liquid applied membranes in substructure site conditions such as no curing time of membrane and spraying liquid membrane to damp concrete issues.
  • Pre-Applied membranes ensures speed in installation and are more site tolerant in underground situation.
  • The special adhesive in the pre-applied membrane allows the base slab and the inner skin wall concrete to bond fully to membrane, providing a positive side tanking, unaffected by ground settlement with the membrane fully bonded to the actual basement structure, thus isolating any seepage.
  • Using spray liquid membranes at this basement, means the membrane will bond to the lean concrete and to the CBP wall, which means the membrane is not fully bonded to the basement concrete structure, thus they are subjected to ground settlement.

Pre-Applied HDPE Waterproofing Membrane System For Base Slab & Confined Wall (D-Wall/CBP)

  • 1.2mm thick HDPE preformed membrane c/o of a HDPE film with a special pressure sensitive adhesive on one side.
  • Pre-applied membrane means, you lay the membrane first, then cast concrete direct to the membrane, to achieve a full bond.
  • Loose laid the membrane on lean concrete and don’t require primer.
  • Do not requires protection cement sand screed, to allow membrane to bond upward ullyto the base slab.
  • Meets and exceed Singapore LTA MRT specifications for waterproofing of underground structures.
  • Lapping of membrane are by self adhesive-No torching or heat welding required.

 

Pre-Applied Waterproofing Membrane To Base Slab

  • Loose lay membrane onto lean concrete with adhesive side facing the sky.
  • Remove the plastic liner to expose adhesive.
  • Lay rebarssitting on spacer blocks.
  • Ready to cast base slab concrete directly to membrane.
  • Membrane will fully bond upwards to base slab.
  • Protected with a plastic release film.
  • Lay Rebar sitting on spacer blocks directly to membrane, membrane has high compressive deflective strength to hold the load.
  • Rebarsare placed sitting on spacer blocks, getting ready to cast concrete for base slab.
  • Side laps are 75mm with black line for lapping, already with self adhesive laps, roll with heavy roller or by hand to seal the lap.
  • End laps to be at 100mm and sealed with 120mm wide Tape.
  • The membrane can be left up to 40 days exposure, however try to cast concrete asap.
  • Membrane will achieve bond strength once the concrete base slab is cured.
  • Any puncture to membrane, you can cut a new patch of the tape and repair with 50mm extend all directions of the punctured area.
  • The membrane uses a PSA (Pressure sensitive adhesive) to allow concrete to bond to membrane through pressure over time and heat.

 

Pre-Applied Waterproofing Membrane To Confined Basement Wall

  • The membrane can be used in confined site walls such as D wall/CPB/sheet piles.
  • Using an inner skin concrete wall, the membrane can be placed in between D-wall and the inner leaf wall.
  • The membrane will bond fully to the inner leaf wall and not to the D-wall.
  • Membrane is temporarily hanged onto the D-wall using nails or screws, to receive the concrete.
  • Membrane nailed at intervals to the D-Wall to hang temporarily to receive wall concrete. The nails are done on the lap area, as next membrane lap will cover the nail. Or use a Tape to seal a exposed nail. Gun nails may be used to anchor the membrane.
  • Wall membrane can receive the rebarsand wall slab casted with concrete using one sided formwork. Once concrete set, the membrane will bond fully to the wall slab and not to the D-wall/CBP.

 

Detailing around Piles and King Posts

  • When wrap around piles or terminations, a PU liquid applied membrane will be used to seal around piles caps/heads as shown.
  • Also at king posts, same treatment shall be done. The king posts should have welded flanges between them and the concrete, and an idrostop rubber hydrophilic waterstop applied arounfd flange.

Technical Characteristics

Due to the special formulation achieved at laboratories, can accomplish different waterproofing requirements. The product is a premium pre-applied waterproofing membrane intended to form a continuous protective outer layer, firmly bonded to the underside of a poured concrete slab and to the outside of basement walls in confined spaces to prevent the ingress and lateral migration of water, moisture and gas.

Storage and Waste Disposal
